Terms
Terms of Service & License
These terms govern your use of Troth. We have tried to keep them plain. By using the app, you agree to them.
Last updated: June 20, 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Exitroom101 LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Troth application and this website (together, the “Service”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. License to use Troth
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Troth app on an Apple-branded device that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or distribute the Service except as permitted by law.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Troth. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
4. Your account and your partner
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Troth is designed to be shared with a partner you invite. You are responsible for respecting your partner and for the content you choose to share. Be kind; the Service depends on mutual trust.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
- Troth offers auto-renewing subscriptions: a monthly plan at $2.99 and an annual plan at $19.99 (prices in USD; local prices and taxes may vary).
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your iPhone’s subscription settings through your Apple ID. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s policies. We generally cannot issue refunds directly for App Store purchases.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or abusive purpose.
- Attempt to access another couple’s private content, or interfere with the security or operation of the Service.
- Upload content that is illegal, or that infringes the rights of others.
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm your partner or anyone else.
7. Your content
The answers and reflections you write remain yours. We do not claim ownership of them. You grant us only the limited license necessary to host, store, back up, and display your content to you and your connected partner in order to operate the Service. Our handling of your content is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Our intellectual property
The Troth name, brand, design, software, and content (other than your own content) are owned by Exitroom101 LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding.
9. Apple App Store terms
This section applies to your use of the Troth app obtained through the Apple App Store, in addition to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. To the extent these Terms conflict with Apple’s Standard EULA on App-Store-specific matters, Apple’s Standard EULA governs.
- These Terms are between you and Exitroom101 LLC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app; we are solely responsible for support, which you can reach at support@trothapps.com.
- In the event the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, legal-compliance, and consumer-protection claims, and any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-party list.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
10. Disclaimers
Troth is offered as a tool to help couples connect; it is not therapy, counseling, or medical or mental-health advice, and is not a substitute for professional help. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Exitroom101 LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Exitroom101 LLC from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.
13. Termination
You may stop using Troth at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where superseded by mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the date above. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
